In this series, I hope to share an experience with the viewer as we take in a landscape: not just the view, but the feel of the scratchy grass, the buzzing drone of insects, the heat of the sun. I’m excited to finally be able to show really large landscape paintings, having found joy in my experience as a scenic artist for theater, painting a whole environment for performers on the stage. The largest in this series, Lazaretto, is five by seven feet. I'm grateful to the Winterville Cultural Center Gallery for the chance to show this work.
